Walk Safe Long Island: Learn about traffic safety laws that apply to pedestrians and motorists

Walk Safe Long Island is an awareness raising campaign designed to teach all Long Islanders about the rules of the road. Its objective is to reduce pedestrian injuries and fatalities on Long Island. The New York Coalition for Transportation Safety oversees this initiative through a grant from the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee. The Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council is the grant partner responsible for the Walk Safe Long Island campaign. The campaign incorporates the state’s “See! Be Seen!” messaging.
